Street Safety & Private Training

“The ‘Street Safety Training’ course we took at Alpha Academy was one of the most enjoyable, most rewarding experiences I’ve had in a long time.  I was happily surprised that all of our classes were in realistic environments, like parks, parking garages, even the public library stairs (great for, you guessed it, stair training).  The techniques taught centered around respect, caring and strengthening the bond between owner and dog. 

Laurence is very personable, had well prepared classes and always made time to address specific issues with each dog owner.  This kind of personal attention even in a group-learning setting was extremely helpful.  Kaylee and I honestly looked forward to every class!

It was incredible to watch not just our bouncy Vizsla, Kaylee transform into an obedient member of our family but to also see our classmates progress leaps and bounds from where they started.  At the end of it all we not only walked away with better behaved dogs, but we walked away better equipped to continue “raising” our four legged family members.

"My daughter and I have just completed an 8 week session with Laurence Ormond of Alpha Academy.  We started with an unruly and very quickly growing puppy.  Eight weeks later we have a puppy who knows basic commands, but more importantly, we now have the skills we need to work with her.  I like to walk her in the morning and prior to our classes it was just a battle of wills.  Now it is a pleasure.  We have been able to take our puppy to numerous stores and on the subway with her classmates.  With Laurence's encouragement, we are trying to give her as many experiences as possible so that she knows her training and our rules apply in any situation. Cooper is a confident young dog and we see little to no separation anxiety issues anymore!!  Gone are the days of a panic stricken dog when we leave the house to throw out the garbage or to pop inside Starbucks for a coffee ... through the patience training that you taught us, I really believe this was key for this one area that we thought we'd have to deal with forever, so double thanks for that!   AND ... we were up at Home Depot the other day, had to be almost an hour that we were in there, everyone was in shock that (a) there was a dog in Home Depot, and (b) he was SO well behaved!    A great feeling! :)" Linda

6Legs to Fitness™

I don’t know if there is anyone out there that hates working out more than I do, but being able to get outside with my dogs and work out with Laurence made it so much more enjoyable and most of all F-U-N! Laurence never stuck to the same boring routines class after class, there was always something fresh and fun and lots of friendly competition. He made every class enjoyable for both furry and non-furry participants. I would recommend 6-Legs to anyone and everyone with or without a dog. Joanna

JELLO LEGS, I wish I had Jello Legs after Laurence 6 legs to fitness class. I had JELLO BODY (if there is such a thing). I have been doing various Martial Arts for over 25 years and this workout, if you put your heart into it, will definitely tax you. Its not just that Laurence makes you work, don't get me wrong, he does, however its the idea of doing all this while having your dog on umbilical at the same time. If you think you have a good core or good balance I challenge anyone to try this with a untrained Golden Retriever. Even with a trained dog this makes you work. And the bonus is, more time spent with your dog. Keep up the great work Laurence. Greg
